IFS and Compassion for Addictive Processes
Live Webinar via Nachas Consulting
We can all relate to feeling ‘addicted.’ Too much screen time, eating, drinking, spending and working are common complaints. Many of our clients also struggle with high-risk drinking, drug use and chronic preoccupations with food, sex, or self-harming activity. Despite considerable resolve by client and therapist, when not much changes, hopelessness and resignation keep everyone feeling stuck.
The IFS model offers new options. Rather than labeling addictive behaviors as self-destructive or evidence of brain disease, we view them as parts of the system desperately trying to help, despite the chaos they create. Committed to doing whatever it takes to protect from emotional pain, we uncover the positive intentions behind these negative behaviors and gain access to underlying trauma and attachment wounds.
In this experiential workshop you will learn how to create a clear road map of the addictive system, avoid power struggles and build safe inner connections to the parts carrying trauma and attachment wounds. How these issues impact the therapist will also be addressed.
